Cripe Architects + Engineers was selected to provide master planning, storm drainage quantity and quality control for the Midfield Terminal project area. Cripe developed the first phase of the landside earthwork and drainage construction documents to facilitate the construction schedule.
The second phase of work included the design and construction documents for the Central Collector which consisted of a trapezoidal open channel, concrete box culverts and storm sewers. This system, along with the secondary connector trunk lines was the primary conveyance which drains the approximate 800 acre site from Pound Creek to the North Collector channel then to the East Fork of White Lick Creek.
The third phase included the design of a BMP to treat 800 acres.
The designed treatment system included a weir diversion structure in the Central Collector channel to route storm water through two parallel Vortechs® Model 3349CIP to treat the first flush runoff flow rate of 140 cubic feet per second.
