Fort Benjamin Harrison Reuse Authority
Cripe Architects + Engineers was the lead consultant in concert with other local and national consultants for this project. An
implementation strategy was established through development of a master plan, for the redevelopment of a historic military base to a unique, total concept community. This community would include mixed use development compatible with existing site conditions, land uses and historic architectural and land planning attributes. Redevelopment of the area required the preparation of a master plan for the layout of utilities, including sanitary sewers and storm sewer systems.
The development of the area was carefully planned to provide for the unique natural and physical features of the site, with architectural districts established to ensure that the essence of the historic fort would be maintained and that new development would be in harmony with the existing heritage of the fort.
