Cripe Charitable Foundation
The Cripe Charitable Foundation, Inc. and its Board of Directors recognize the importance of educational and not-for-profit organizations in a community. To support these organizations, the Foundation to date has donated over $600,000, but its contributions go beyond the monetary. In 1999 the Foundation added to its mission and it encourages Cripe Architects + Engineers staff to serve in their communities.
The Cripe Foundation created the firm’s only award, the Community Service Award, to encourage and recognize employees who have contributed to their community through organizations such as churches, youth group, seniors’ clubs, schools, health services, etc. Each year, the Foundation’s Board of Directors will solicit nominations from employees for the Community Service Award. The criteria for eligibility of the award are listed below:
- Regular participation by the employee in an active, qualified not-for-profit organization
- Full-time employment at Cripe Architects + Engineers for at least 12 months
- Recommendation by a Cripe Architects + Engineers staff member
- Recommendation by the employee’s immediate supervisor
- Employee may not be an officer or partner of Cripe Architects + Engineers
The employee receiving the Community Service Award will receive a plaque and, in addition, the Foundation will make a $1,000 contribution in honor of the employee to his or her designated organization. The Community Service Award will be presented to the recipient at the annual Founder’s Dinner. All nominated finalists will be recognized by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
The past five recipients of the Community Service Award are:
- 2007- Michael A. Grubb for his involvement with the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville and the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce
- 2006- Jim Freed for his involvement with ABATE of Indiana, Inc.
