As part of our continued commitment to education and professional development, Cripe maintains a vibrant and strong internship program. We see the internship experience as a mutually beneficial, stimulating and relationship building opportunity and work to provide interns with a complete immersion experience – working side by side by professional staff as immediate and integral member of the department. Cripe believes that the internship experience should provide a 360° view of the “real” employment world.
This summer in addition to their normal duties our interns were challenged to make an impact in the community. After much discussion and thought they decided to host a community service event on August 5th to benefit The Independence Academy of Indiana, a school for students with high-functioning autism.
Our interns from departments across the company including architecture, civil engineering, marketing, and survey, conceived and executed a school supply drive, baked goods raffle, picnic, and corn hole tournament which resulted in a donation of over $500 and 5 large boxes of much needed school supplies for the students. With faculty and founders from the Academy in attendance, the interns were able to display Cripe’s commitment to community service and servant leadership, while putting their team work and project management skills to the test, culminating in a fun event for the whole company.
Congrats Taylor, James, Josh and Max on a job well done!
