The Oaks Academy “Math Matters” Visit 2015

Date: June 2, 2015

We hosted our 6th annual “Math Matters” visit, where 8th graders from The Oaks Academy visit our office to learn about a few of the services offered by our firm. ¬†They were able to see why “Math Matters” from a few of our architects, engineers, and land surveyors who not only use math on a daily basis, but are committed to continual learning and professional development.

Our civil engineering intern, Josh Padgett, was part of the inaugural 8th grade class to visit Cripe.  Things have come full circle for The Oaks Academy and Herron High graduate, who is now studying Civil Engineering at Purdue University. He spoke to the students, his younger sister Emily among them, about his journey and decision to study engineering.
We had a great afternoon with fun activities and engaging dialogue between students and presenters.
