Bliss Artisan Ice Cream Shop
Architecture, Permitting
Bliss Artisan has been an emerging name in the local ice cream industry in Northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana since 2013 when their business began. With locations in Henderson, KY, Mt. Vernon, IN, Tell City, IN, and New Harmony, IN, the co-founders Woody and Angie are still looking to expand their hand-crafted ice cream recipe amongst the Southern Indiana region. Their next location, partnering with Flaherty & Collins Properties, was a 1,300 square foot vacant retail space adjacent to a newly developed 188 unit apartment complex, completed in 2018, in New Albany, IN called The Breakwater.
With our vast knowledge in retail tenant build-outs, and previously completing the architectural design, surveying, and civil engineering for The Breakwater complex the previous year, Cripe was hired by Flaherty & Collins Properties to design and transform the vacant tenant space into Woody and Angie’s hopes of a new ice cream shop location. With flares of industrial aesthetics that is recognized in their previous locations by use of interior materials, furniture, and lighting, the 1,300 square foot space features a kitchen required for ice cream making and display, along with accommodations for pizza preparation, an indoor and outdoor seating space, and support spaces required to manage their new facility.
