Carmel High School
Architecture
Linking Carmel High School physically and emotionally with the community and combining five separate buildings into one proved to be our greatest challenge for Carmel High School. To meet this challenge, we helped create a “Committee of 100,” a group of local political, business, civic and educational leaders to help plan the best possible solutions to the school’s facility problems.

The “Committee of 100” encouraged community participation through charitable contributions, in addition to the investment of tax dollars. Because of this community collaboration, Carmel High School is now a technologically superior facility. It is connected physically to the community’s heritage with a circa 1900 Indiana classroom and connected to the future through a media center that serves as the epicenter of the school. Cripe was the Architect of Record for this awardwinning design.
