The Riley Simon Family Tower at IU Health will be a new 10-story inpatient tower, funded by a $40 million gift from the Simon Family. This 675,000-square-foot facility will increase the hospital’s capacity for medical/surgical and intensive care patients. Phase I, covered three floors and totaled 300,000 square feet. This phase of the project included new imaging and radiology units, a new pharmacy, and a new loading dock. Phase II was a six-floor build-out of Phase I of the Riley Simon Family Tower at IU Health construction and totaled 375,000 square feet. This phase of the project included expanded emergency room services, an obstetrics unit for high-risk deliveries, a larger newborn intensive care unit, state-of-the-art operating rooms, and heart catheterization laboratories as well as a new heart center.
