NCAA Headquarters
Civil Engineering
In the last few years, the NCAA has grown its staff and now requires an expansion to its headquarters in order to remain in a single facility. The project includes a two-story expansion to the existing building which provides a kitchen/cafeteria space and expanded conference facilities. An addition to the west end of the building requires the relocation of the truck dock to the north side of the building and requires other utility relocation.
The larger building addition incorporates a two-story connector to a new four-story office building as a westward expansion into an existing parking lot. The new building has been planned and developed with respect to the Master Plan for the IUPUI Campus and future design elements that include plazas, pedestrian walkways which preserve access to the Canal and to the White River State Park and a new front door with vehicular access for visitor arrival.

The drainage system utilizes the new concepts presented in the Sustainable Infrastructure Design Manual which has been implemented by the Office of Sustainability involving infiltration of the stormwater runoff to recharge the groundwater as well as to alleviate the clear stormwater discharges to the combined sewer system.
