This project is a renovation of the existing Central Sterile Department including decontamination, sterile assembly and sterile instrument storage rooms at IU Hospital. The renovation provides space and updated equipment to meet the increased demand from the surgery department additions in the new Cancer Center addition, as well as any other departments requiring sterilized instruments of a nature prohibitive of a disposable format.
The renovation includes accessible hand wash stations in decontamination and sterile instrument assembly rooms, new floor and wall finishes providing surfaces for ease of cleaning, removal of malfunctioning cart washing equipment and installation of new equipment, provisions for future expansion of space and installation of additional equipment for future requirements of the hospital and expansion of the Sterile Assembly and Sterile Instrument Storage areas.
