The Franciscan Orthopedic Center of Excellence was designed to be a Regional Center for innovative orthopedic care that is patient-centered and value-based. The Center is a four-story hospital, surgery center, and three-story medical office building that supports the orthopedic programs for Methodist Sports Medicine and Franciscan Health Carmel. The Center includes a four-story garage with a bridge connector from the garage to the hospital/medical office building that spans the Vectren gas main while providing safe pedestrian passage to the main building. In addition to the building and garage, the project includes a new multi-use path along Illinois Street, new interior walks, a fitness trail, bicycle parking, and connectivity to the public right-of-way. Cripe’s Equipment Planning team guided the owner team from plans to purchase orders and installation. This included 14 operating room suites, the medical office building by Forte Sports Rehab, the Franciscan Clinics, imaging suites, a pharmacy lab, central sterile processing, and the Research Institute.
