Beech Grove Police Department
Architecture
Beech Grove Police Department relocated from their previous facility to a new 16,000 SF police station. The project arose from a need to replace the outdated facility to better meet the needs of the City’s force and a desire to have a more centralized presence in the community along Emerson Avenue and Main Street.
The new facility provides accommodations for officer’s daily office operations, intake and processing of individuals and evidence, sally port spaces for investigations, and court room areas on the 2nd floor for small hearings. Cripe’s role in this Build-Operate-Transfer model was the Architect of Record, providing programming, design, construction documentation, and construction administration. Cripe collaborated with the police department leadership, officers and staff, community members, and leaders to deliver a successful new municipal building.
Project Location
Services
A separate 6,000 SF, 8-10 lane gun range building was designed by Cripe and is located just south of the new police station. The old range was located in the basement of the former police department and was unusable, restricting the officers ability to remain current with their
tactical training. The new facility enables enhanced training experience for the Beech Grove Police and other Indianapolis forces.
