Butler Hinkle Fieldhouse Renovation
Civil Engineering, Land Surveying
The project includes the surveying and civil engineering services for the renovation of the over 90-year old fieldhouse. Public renovations included 4,500 new chair-back seats, a video scoreboard, larger concession stands, additional restrooms, and an expanded gift shop. Additionally, a new weight room was added, as well as new training facilities, locker rooms, classroom space, offices, meeting space, and new video rooms.Additional proposed efforts include demolition of a 1,535 sf metal shed, provision of sidewalks and ramps for emergency egress of reworked interior spaces, and utility efforts including electrical, fiber optic, water, and sanitary as needed for the interior renovations. In addition, since renovations will occur in the basement, a ramp and retaining wall are required to provide ADA compliant egress. This new ramp results in a section retaining wall to be rebuilt further north to maintain the maintenance drive to access the HRC building to the west. The design process requires extensive coordination with the project design team members, the construction team, and Butler University.
