Butler University Fairview House

The project included the surveying and civil engineering design of a new student housing project for American Campus communities on the campus of Butler University. The new 633-bed residence features podstyle units with state-of-the-art amenities and the building provides a new gateway into the Butler Campus.
In addition to the building, the project included student gathering spaces and new sidewalks with a multi-use path to improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity within the campus from academic buildings to amenities north including Clowe’s Hall, the parking garage, restaurants, and Hinkle Fieldhouse.

A particular challenge associated with the development of this project included coordination of design with respect to the active neighborhood association, preservation of heritage and campus-sensitive trees including an historical 1936 Olympic Oak, and planning for future development immediately north and west of the project site. LEED certification is currently in progress for this project.
