Wabash College Residences
Civil Engineering, Land Surveying
This project included the land surveying and civil engineering design of a new student housing project consisting of four buildings on approximately 4 acres. The project expanded the landlocked, urban campus in Crawfordsville through the acquisition of adjacent single family residences.
The project included a parking lot, student gathering spaces and pedestrian connectivity to the academic campus while connecting adjacent Fraternity housing. The four buildings consists of two Lodge/Hall combinations and two townhome style buildings. A particular challenge associated with the development of this project was the storm water management component.
Since the existing residential area did not have adequate storm water infrastructure, the design incorporated a master drainage study and subsequent design to collect and store the storm water in an underground detention system beneath the parking lot which then connects to an off-site storm sewer system.
