Cripe designed the site improvements to the renovated school sites for several Indianapolis Public Schools, one of Cripe’s first clients in 1937. The redesign focused on safer and more user friendly bus and parent drop off circulations, playground facilities, accessibility, bicycle routes and separation of storm and sanitary systems. Cripe also worked diligently with the team on sustainability efforts in order to ensure every school was LEED certified. School certification ranged from Certified to Silver Accrediation. The projects main obstacle was ensuring all the proposed improvements would function within the urban parcel and not conflict with the existing conditions.
